Numbered events are "SPICE events", means SPICE Group is involved by helping to define the topics, to identify and attract speakers, to prepare and organize the event and/or by holding a SPICE Meeting — for members and invited guests only. Events in italic letters, without a blue background are recommended by SPICE, however do not have a specific involvement of SPICE Group.

The tenth annual conference BI:10 - Celebrating Innovation and Entrepreneurship through Business Incubation will take place in Bristol - one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, with a long innovative history and a bright entrepreneurial future. From John Cabot to Concorde to Wallace & Gromit, Bristol has made it’s mark on the world.
Building on the success of BI:9 in Brighton, BI:10 will again take place over two days. This year Wednesday 19th November will see specialised workshops, and incubator tours with the Pre Conference Reception formally kicking off proceedings. The main conference sessions will take place throughout the day of Thursday 20th November with the conference drawing to a close at our 10th Annual Awards & Gala Dinner.

The First Global Business Incubation Day is an initiative of UK Business Incubation. It is not a gathering of people at a certain pave and time, but will offer a platform for all active in innovation and entrepreneurship support to informa about their activities to promote innovation, entrepreneutship through business incubation.

The seventh annual international conference and Award "Best Scinece Based Incubators" will be organized by Science Alliance this year in France.
Closing date for entries for the Best Science Based Incubator Award" is November 14, 2008. The “Best Science Based Incubator Award 2008” ceremony will be part of the related conference scheduled to be held in Paris, France, December 11-12, 2008 The award scheme has proved extremely popular with entrants from Europe, the Far East and North America. There are six award categories – Return on Public Investment, Self Sustainability, Fastest Growth, Most Promising New Incubator, Good Practice and an overall ‘Best Science Based Incubator 2007’ award. Apart from valuable publicity, the location of the overall winner has in most years been the venue for the following year’s conference. There still is time to participate! An international jury will review the entries in December with the winners of the ‘Best Science Based Incubator’ award scheme being announced at the Paris conference.

The 1st ISPIM Symposium - Managing Innovation in a Connected World - will be organised by ISPIM together with Singapore Management University. The aim of this symposium is to stimulate discussion and connect people from different backgrounds and cultures. The format will include interactive workshops and discussion panels together with academic and practitioner presentations. You are encouraged to submit papers and workshop topics related to the theme including but not limited following topics: Borderless innovation, Collaborative R&D, for innovation, Idea generation and creativity, Innovation policy, Measuring and managing innovation, Methods and tools for innovation, Networks and clusters of innovation, and Open innovation, The deadline for submitting proposals is September 10, 2008. Selected papers will be considered for publication in journals: The R&D Management Journal, Innovation: Management, Pol-icy & Practice, and International Journal of Services Sciences

This year’s event will be held in Palm Springs, Calif., and will off with a reception on Sunday evening, Jan. 11. During the next day and a half, you brainstorming discussions, presentationas and interactions with peers are on the agenda. The event ends at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Brazil will host the 3rd infoDev Global Forum on Business Incubation as part of a new partnership btween Brazil and infoDev to explore the role of ICT, innovation and small business entrepreneurship as engines of economic growth and social empowerment and inclusion.
The Global Forum will bring together incubation professionals, small and medium sized enterprises, entrepreneurs, policymakers, financiers, and development practitioners to discuss how incubation supports ICT-enabled innovation and entrepreneurship as tools for sustainable development. The Global Forum will be an opportunity for Brazil to share its rich track record of over twenty years of business incubation with the global community. Brazil and infoDev will also create a joint research and analytical agenda as well as a targeted capacity building program around ICT-enabled innovation and entrepreneurship to cater to a growing number of developing countries seeking to emulate Brazil’s success in these areas.
