Short Profile is managing director of the TechnologieZentrumDortmund GmbH. After training as an industrial clerk Baranowski studyied business administration in Dortmund and economics in Muenster. Subsequently, he worked in various positions in the industry and in the public economic development. In March 1985, he was responsible for the concept to the development and expansion of technology (TZDO) and the adjacent Technology Park. Thanks to its initiatives settled there more than 250 companies, and there were more than 8,000 jobs were created or secured. He wore such a lasting contribution to structural change in the Rhine-Ruhr region. From 1990 to 2001 he was chairman of the German Federal Association of Incubation and Innovation Centers. He is the author of about 50 publications on technology and structural policies. In 2011 he was awarded with the Order of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany for the commitment at the interface between science and industry. Barnaowski is Honorary Chairman of the German Federal Association of Incubation and Innovation Centers.
