Short Profile is managing director of Innovations-Zentrum Berlin Management GmbH. After his diploma in 1974 (Physics, FU Berlin) he worked for a big German laser company in its start-up and growing phase. Two years later he returned to the university for working on his PhD in the field of optical spectroscopy and starting his own laser-company. As post-doc Dr. Seiff worked in Grenoble, France, on neutron diffraction of biomolecules. In 1987 he became managing director for the technological part at the Weltraum-Institut Berlin GmbH (Cooperation with FU Berlin) in the starting and growing phase. He was responsible for experiments in zero-gravity, atmospheric research and remote sensing. Due to his practical experience with science and industry he started his position as managing director of IZBM in 1992. Since then he is in charge for 3 business incubators in Berlin: BIG, IGZ and OWZ with more than 500 client companies. Florian Seiff is the speaker of the Inno-Kolleg, the association of Berlin-based incubators and member of ADT. The knowledge transfer for setting up business incubators in other countries is a major activity.
